"Influence" is quite possibly the greatest marketing book ever written, and oddly enough it's author is an academic...not a business person. Influence covers the 6 universal principles of persuasion, and while the author, Robert Cialdini, does not directly apply his finding to business and marketing, the links will be clear the moment you see them.

Like Influence, Predictably Irrational is an academic, behavioral psychology book that when put in the hands of a marketer is a bit like handing a 16 year-old the keys to your Ferrari. We used the finding in this book to substantially alter some of our pricing models using a concept known as "decoy pricing", which we'll be discussing in great detail during the Traffic and Conversion Summit.
